NANOBEAST firmware recovery process

When it isn't possible to establish connection with NANOBEAST from StudioX Flow app by USB2SYS or BLE2SYS please try to connect using the firmware recovery mode.

Required items:

  • power source 5 - 8 Volts (i.e. 2s LiPo battery or BEC power from helicopter ESC)
  • jumper wire with apprx. 10 - 15cm length

Putting device into boot mode:

  • Connect jumper wire to signal pin of SYS port. (When looking from the front it's the bottom pin on the very left.

  • Connect other end of the jumper wire to signal pin of CH5. (When looking from top on the NANOBEAST CH5 is the last socket at the bottom. The signal pin again is on the left here.)

  • Now connect the power source to the DI port which is above SYS port. (Watch out for correct polarity). The Status LED will show red color immediately.

  • Remove jumper wire while keeping device powered and attach USB2SYS or BLE2SYS to SYS port.

  • Finally: Connect with StudioX Flow. It should indicate Recovery Mode now.

  • Click menu on the top left corner and go to Firmware Update screen. Flash latest firmware on the device. (Don't worry, usually it won't erase all your settings. The warning maybe incorrect as StudioX Flow will not be able to check settings version!)

  • After update process StudioX Flow will reconnect automatically and should indicate successful firmware update.
