Backup/Wiederherstellung
Restoring a backup
Select a backup in the list and click Restore. A dialog shows the details stored in the backup (filename, creation date, device type, firmware, features, number of entries) as well as your note.
Compatibility check
StudioX Flow compares the backup with the connected device and shows the result in the dialog:
- Backup is compatible with your device. – The backup was created with the same device type and the same tail drive.
- Note: Backup was created for different device type. – The backup comes from a different BEASTX device. It can still be restored. Only settings that also exist on the connected device are transferred.
- Warning: Backup was created for helicopter with different tail drive system. – One firmware is for a tail servo and the other for a tail motor. All tail-specific settings are skipped.
Choosing what to restore
Under Parameters to import the content of the backup is grouped into categories. The number in brackets shows how many values of this category can be applied to the connected device. Initially all categories are selected. Click a category to deselect or select it again:
- Radio settings – settings of the RC system, e.g. receiver type, function assignment and failsafe
- Basic settings – the settings of the setup menu, e.g. mounting orientation, swashplate and servo settings
- Bank 1, Bank 2, Bank 3 – the flight parameters of the respective parameter bank
- Other – all remaining values
Only categories that exist in the backup and on the connected device are offered. This way you can, for example, transfer only the flight parameters of one bank from another helicopter, or only the radio settings to a new device, while keeping all other settings as they are.
Click Restore to transfer the selected settings to your device. Afterwards StudioX Flow shows how many values were applied and how many were skipped. A value is skipped if
- it does not exist on the connected device (e.g. because of a different device type or firmware version),
- it belongs to a category you have deselected,
- it is outside the range that is valid for the connected device, or
- it is a tail-specific setting and the tail drive of the backup does not match.
If the settings cannot be transferred to the device, StudioX Flow discards the changes and reports all values as skipped. Check the connection and try again.
Important: After restoring a backup, especially one from another helicopter or another device type, check all control directions, servo center positions, servo throws and the mounting orientation of the device before flying!
Please note: Only backups created with StudioX Flow (".bxbackup") are shown. Restore points from StudioX Classic (".rsp") cannot be loaded with StudioX Flow.
