While Microbeast is connected to the Microsettings software, the device itself can not be adjustment - the push button is locked. But it can be fully controlled by the transmitter, e.g. to verify certain settings.

1) Selecting standard settings instead of selecting the different options in the menu by using the rudder stick you can select the appropriate option by two mouse clicks: Click once on the dropdown menu in the upper right corner of each menu point and it opens. Then select by a second mouse click the required parameters. The value will be immediately activated in Microbeast, there is no further action like saving, etc. necessary. Simply disconnect the unit and go fly.

2) Setting up user defined values: All menu items offer the possibility to apply either the fixed values or to select your own values (in a usefull range) and find your personal adjustment. The possible range of values is visualized by the bars in the display. The individual value(s) can be entered using the input panel(s) on the left (except for the swashplate mixers, here's the stuff in the middle). By clicking the arrow keys up or down, the values can be adjusted in steps of 1. Alternatively, you can also click the panel and directly enter a numeric value (so far as it is within the possible range of values). This value is stored immediately in Microbeast but to also use it, it is necessary, to select "User defined" option instead of fixed the values in the MICROBEAST's menu - either by just using the drop-down menu on the right or (esspecially useful later on the field) directly by using the tail stick to select "LED off" in the menu at the appropriate menu point. For example you can test the new value on the airfield and also change back at any time to a fixed default value or even change between values several times. The custom value itself remains stored in the microprocessor and the computer is only necessary if you want to change it again.

If you move the mouse pointer over the value adjustment panel, the possible range of values and also the default value will be displayed.
The default values should be a good starting point and mostly correspond to the factory preset set values (in the dropdown menu these are marked with '*').

A few short notes about the menu items

  • When using the RevoMIX the tail rotor must compensate load of the main rotor system. So on a helicopter with clockwise turning main rotor therefore if you enter pitch (both positive and negative!) the tail rotor must turn to the right. This also applies to cyclic movements of roll and pitch independently of the direction. Whenever torque is built up the tail rotor must compensate with anti torque. At 0° pitch the tail rotor makes the least deflection.
  • Experience has shown that a ratio of 1:2 between cyclic and collective pitch is a good guide. For example 15 cyclic and 30 collective Pitch. Then slowly increase to the optimum values. This presupposes that the tail rotor (sensitivity and heading lock proportion) are were adjusted to the optimum extent before. The RevoMIX is only an aid to improve the performance of the tail gyro for example when the tail rotor system is slightly undersized but not to conceal a poor control at all (if without RevoMix when giving pitch the tail turns away desperately you should check the mechanics and tail gyro adjustment).
  • Asymmetry is a compensation function if the tail gyro behaves unequal between both directions (there are no negative values since the value depends also on the setting for the main rotor torque). Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary to change this value - default is 0.
  • To the scale pilots: It is assumed that the helicopter was adjusted according to the instructions and collective pitch center stick position corresponded to 0° pitch during the setup procedure! A subsequent change of the pitch curve then represents no problem but if from the beginning instead of 0° the adjustment has been done with hovering pitch the RevoMIX can not be used because it assumes that 1500μs pulse on the collective corresponds to 0° of pitch. On the other hand it is no problem if you have set your pitch range asymmetrical in setup menu point K (e.g. -5° to +12°). The REVOMix tail throw will automaticaly be scaled to this asymmetric ratio.

 Release Notes BEASTXMicroSettings 3.0.2:
 - now supports MICROBEAST firmware (application) 2.x.x and 3.x.x
 - scrollable GUI for better compliance with LowRes devices (netbooks, etc...)
 - disconnect button, to use BEASTXUpdater and BEASTXMicroSettings together
 - more settings available for MICROBEAST firmware (application) 2.x.x than in last release
